University of Western States Launches Massage Therapy Program in Salem, Oregon
Salem, Oregon (PRWEB) August 29, 2011
The University of Western States(UWS) in Portland, Oregon is launching a new Massage Therapy Program on the Salem campus of Chemeketa Community College beginning fall 2011. The UWS program is based on the scientifically proven benefits of therapeutic massage. Massage therapists help people manage symptoms of stress, pain, injury, and illness by applying various massage techniques to the soft tissues and muscular structures of the body. The UWS Massage Program focuses on therapeutic and rehabilitative massage techniques while providing students with extensive hands-on experience in a brand new health sciences building. The integrated curriculum focuses on human anatomy, kinesiology, therapeutic massage techniques and business skills combining to deliver a fully comprehensive education.
The UWS Massage Therapy Program is the only university based massage program in Oregon. Additionally, UWS is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, which means credits taken at UWS may transfer to other colleges and universities.
The University of Western States offers a world-class education to our students and provides the community with an unsurpassed, integrative, and natural approach to wellness.
